Scoop Kicks Off in Style: A Vibrant Opening Day at Olympia West

Scoop Olympia West Scoop opened its doors at Olympia West today, creating a dynamic showroom environment filled with an electric atmosphere, setting the stage for a season of style and discovery. Visitors eagerly arrived to be among the first to explore over 250 designer collections, including Fabienne Chapot, Isabelle Blanche, Sophie + Lucie, Sitting Suits, and many more.

Independent retailers—including Young Ideas, Pamela Shiffer, Anne Furbank, Domino Style, Cream, and Cordelia James—as well as a host of Irish retailers, including Nu Chic, Sorrento, Rococo, Macbees, Ribbon Rouge, and Sybil, explored the expertly curated selection of designers.

With a vibrant atmosphere, designers exhibiting at Scoop shared their enthusiasm:

Laura Robertshaw from Stand Studio said: “This is my first time at Scoop, and we are very impressed. We’ve had an excellent first day and have been really busy from early on. We’ve seen lots of independent boutiques, which is great for us. We are currently stocked in Selfridges and are looking to expand our independent stockist list.”

Sinead Ormiston from Oldstrom, representing Isabelle Blanche, commented: “We have had new customers, especially lots of Irish buyers. People have been drawn to our statement pieces—buyers have loved our fun collection.”

Maria Alvarez from Sophie + Lucie added: “It has been vibrant today, with lots of energy. We’ve been busy with buyers all day and have had lots of traffic, so we are very happy. We’ve seen some great stores from the UK, Ireland, and Japan—it’s nice to see international buyers so prevalent.”

At the end of the day, Shi Yi from Oats and Rice commented: “I have taken orders from independent retailers today, which I am really pleased about. I am looking forward to tomorrow, we have some key appointments and meeting new stockists.”

Jess Quinton of Quinton Chadwick added: “We have done extremely  well with our ponchos and jumpers today. We have seen about 50% new buyers and 50% regular buyers and have had some great feedback on the collection. It’s been a very positive first day.”

Buyers also shared their thoughts on this season’s showcase:

Bernie Dunleavey, Owner of The Front Room, Merseyside, said: “There was a wonderful, upbeat atmosphere at the show—Scoop is very unique. I have found some great new designers and topped up orders.”

Aoife McBride and Doranne Hickey from Macbees, Killarney, commented: “We love Scoop as it showcases so many established and up-and-coming designers. It’s a great way to get an overview of the season and discover new designers.”

Natasha Yeomans, Head Buyer at Young Ideas, Staffordshire, noted: “We’ve seen some lovely newness here and some fresh brands, which is our primary reason for coming. It’s insightful to see new designers who will fill a gap we have.”

Pamela Shiffer commented: “This is the best Scoop we have seen. It is a great show with a great buzz, energy, and selection. It’s been so inspiring, with almost too much choice, which is a nice position to be in. The spread of designers has really hit the mark for us big time, and I have already placed three orders. There has been a good variety—something for everyone. I will be leaving very happy!”

Rosie Wild of Moda Rosa, New Alresford, added: “It’s been lovely to see some nice casual collections—lots of food for thought. I have seen some beautiful jewellery too. I think this has been the uplift that everybody needed; there has been a great atmosphere, and I loved the live band.”

Scoop’s Founder and Managing Director, Karen Radley, commented: "It has been an incredible opening day at Scoop, with a wonderful atmosphere. We’re delighted to see so many independent retailers and international buyers already discovering new brands and placing orders. With two more days to go, we’re excited to see even more connections being made and can’t wait to welcome more retailers to experience Scoop. It’s always a joy to see each show come to life, and this season’s quirky artistic touches have delighted guests."

The much-anticipated Autumn/Winter '25 edition of Scoop continues until Tuesday, 11 February 2025, at Olympia West, Kensington. For more information, visit www.scoop-international.com.
